Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the income of goat traders and the most profitable types of goats. The city of Surakarta has several traditional markets that are used for buying and selling goats, especially in Pasar Kliwon District, there is the Silir Market. The Silir Market in Surakarta is one of the potential goat markets for buying and selling goats. Respondents in this study were 40 goat traders. The research was conducted at the Silir Animal Market in Surakarta City in December-January 2021. The study used a quantitative approach, survey method (case study). Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The average income of goat traders is Rp. 17,000,000 per month with sales of 60-70 birds per month and the profit per etawa Peranakan goat is Rp. 283,140, Peanuts Rp.236,890, Male futures Rp. 301,890, Baboons with children Rp. 428,140, Dere Rp. 334,390, Cempe Rp. 171,890 and dead goats Rp. 304,390 the highest income per goat is baboons with children. Marketing efficiency in the Silir market is less than 100% so that marketing in the Silir Animal Market is efficient. The goat with the most profit per head is the baboon goat with a child.
